Simultaneously, it redirects rainwater to the storm drain, preventing any cross-contamination.

The Process
When the shower is activated, the transfer valve in the transfer pit automatically opens, transferring all wash water to the designated treatment of sanitary sewer, holding tank, or oil/water separator.
When the shower is not in use, the transfer valve is automatically closed. Rainwater will now simply fill the pit and flow out the stormwater outlet.
One of the main uses for a shower diversion system is to keep suntan lotions and oils from entering the waterways by requiring beachgoers to shower at designated areas.
The Beach, Deck, and Pool Shower System will then automatically divert the shower water to sewer or other treatment while keeping stormwater out of the treatment system.
